Eric Omondi Pens Emotional Father’s Day Tribute to Late Brother

Multitalented comedian and humanitarian activist Eric Omondi has penned an emotional Father’s Day tribute to his late brother Fred Omondi, marking exactly one year since his passing.

In a heartfelt Instagram post shared on Sunday, June 15, 2025, Eric described Fred as a legend and promised to honour his memory with actions that secure a better future for themselves, their children, and generations to come.

“Today marks exactly one year since we lost a LEGEND. We will make you proud. Tomorrow is a better day. I choose to celebrate you this Father’s Day, Juu wewe ni Baba Yao,” Eric wrote.

Eric further vowed that as Fred rests in peace, they will not rest until they see positive change and hope for a brighter tomorrow.

Fred tragically lost his life in a road accident in Nairobi on June 15, 2024. His passing left a deep void among family, friends, and the Kenyan entertainment industry. He was laid to rest at his rural home in Sega, Siaya County, on June 29, 2024, in a ceremony attended by hundreds of mourners, including politicians and celebrities who came to celebrate his life and legacy.
