Heartbroken Mother Asks Lawyers for Help to See Her Son After Seven Years Apart

I was only 22 years old when I got married. My husband was 33. In the beginning, our marriage was happy despite our age gap. We would have disagreements like any couple, but at the end of the day, seeing him by my side made everything feel right again.

About a year into the marriage, my husband had to travel abroad for work. I was six months pregnant at the time, and though I felt uneasy, he assured me he’d only be gone for two months. He left me with more than enough money, and the company also committed to supporting us financially every week during his absence.

Soon after he left, I became lonely in our big house. I decided to move back to my mother’s place for company and support. But just before I could leave, an ex-boyfriend reached out to me. In my vulnerable state, I allowed him to come over and stay.

One thing led to another, and unfortunately, we ended up being intimate. Even though I was pregnant, he didn’t mind, and we continued sleeping together. It felt exciting in the moment, but in hindsight, it was a terrible mistake.

Eventually, the stress and the situation caused my baby to arrive early. When I informed my husband about the birth, he was overjoyed and flew back home the following week. By that time, my ex had already left.

What I didn’t know was that my husband had security cameras installed throughout the house. He saw everything. Without saying much, he took our baby and told me to leave.

It’s been seven years since that day. He filed for divorce and has never allowed me to see our son again. I was young and naive, and while I deeply regret my decisions, I wish he had tried to understand or at least given me a chance to explain.

Today, my son is growing up with a wealthy father. I know he will have everything he needs materially, but he doesn’t know me—his own mother.

I’m sharing my story publicly because I feel desperate to find any legal way to be in my son’s life again.

To the lawyers reading this:

  • Is there any legal action I can take to at least get visitation rights?
  • Despite being divorced, do I have a right to reconnect with my child after so many years?

All I want is a chance to see my little boy and let him know I’ve always loved him. If you have any advice or resources that could help, please share.
