Kenyan Celebs React as Mulamwah & Ruth K’s Scandal Sparks Public Outrage
The online feud between comedian Mulamwah and his ex-partner Ruth K has stirred intense emotions across Kenya, with fans and fellow celebrities weighing in on the drama that has dominated headlines this week.
Oga Obinna and Terence Creative, two of Kenya’s top entertainers, have spoken out about the scandal, each offering a unique perspective on the situation.

Oga Obinna: “This is a cry for help”
Taking to his Instagram, Obinna reminded Kenyans that June is Men’s Mental Health Awareness Month, suggesting that Mulamwah’s actions may be a desperate cry for help rather than pure malice.

“A cry for help. We as a society are all lost, confused, hurt & broken. Mentors are scarce. We try to hurt each other physically or emotionally, ONLINE or OFFLINE. At the end, we lose ourselves in the process. I’m learning from MY MISTAKES, and I’m trying to do better — be a better human being, not for YOU but for ME. I hope you are learning from YOUR MISTAKES too. We shall get there eventually,” Obinna posted.

His message resonated with many, highlighting the broader mental health crisis and how unresolved pain can manifest online.
Terence Creative: “Thank you for ending this”
Meanwhile, Terence Creative thanked both Mulamwah and Ruth K for putting an end to their explosive online exchange, which had reached worrying extremes with private videos and photos being leaked.
“Thank you Mulamwa and Ruth for ending this, we are happy this has come to a stop. We forgive and pray for you. #TuachaneNaPeace,” Terence wrote.

Other celebrities, including Bahati, Comedian YY, and Dr. Ofweneke, have also joined the conversation, urging fans to find lessons in the scandal and to choose peace over online war.
Netizens aren’t buying it
However, Kenyans online remain divided. Some fans feel the damage is far from undone:
- “Putting it aside? What exactly are we putting aside? He posted her nudes, mocked her, and used their child’s page for that mess…” wrote one user.
- Another added: “Tell him to delete those photos even if they have already trended!”
The bigger picture

Earlier, Mulamwah accused Ruth K of circulating his private photos and even claiming he was HIV positive. Ruth, on her part, admitted sharing his pics but publicly apologized, saying she regrets her actions.
Fans say the entire saga should serve as a wake-up call about revenge porn, online bullying, and protecting family dignity even when relationships end badly.
