🔴 Gachagua Alleges Ruto, Ichung’wah Stage-Managed Arson Attacks in Mt. Kenya

Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has claimed that the recent burning of police stations during the Gen Z protests was not a spontaneous act, but a government-orchestrated operation.

Speaking on July 9, Gachagua directly linked President William Ruto and Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichung’wah to the torching of law enforcement offices, including the Kikuyu Police Station.

“It was all stage-managed by the MP of Kikuyu. How do you explain unarmed civilians taking over a police station protected by armed officers?” Gachagua asked.

According to him, the objective was to justify charging protestors under Kenya’s terrorism laws and to create fear among government critics.

He compared Ruto’s alleged tactics to those used by former President Moi in the 1980s, accusing him of reviving the divide-and-rule playbook against Mt. Kenya communities.

Gachagua further claimed that looting during the Saba Saba protests was carried out by state-sponsored militias, in collaboration with rogue police officers.

“Ruto is working with governors and MPs allied to him to destroy businesses owned by Kikuyu, Meru, and Embu people. Then they blame it on protesters,” he said.

Gachagua’s remarks have stirred sharp debate online as Gen Z protests continue to grip the country.
