Trafficker Busted: 626 Grams of Cocaine Seized at JKIA
A major drug bust has been reported at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) after Anti-Narcotics detectives intercepted a 26-year-old suspected trafficker attempting to smuggle cocaine by ingesting pellets.
The suspect, identified as Wendy Mbeke Muli, was nabbed on June 13, 2025, at around 10:00 a.m. moments before boarding an outbound flight. Her suspicious behaviour during a routine screening caught the attention of keen detectives.
A detailed search revealed that she had hidden foreign substances inside her body cavity. While under medical observation, Mbeke excreted two pellets on the same day and six more the following day, totaling eight pellets filled with cocaine.
The recovered drugs weigh approximately 626.65 grams.
She is expected to be arraigned tomorrow, June 16, 2025, as the investigation continues to dismantle drug trafficking networks exploiting international travel routes.
